Compared to vonage, callcentric, phonepower this is not very reliable at all. Setup is pretty easy and straight forward. I have Vonage at my parents' house in Pakistan and since Vonage is fairly expensive I wanted to give Skype a skype freetalk with this device.
Setup was easy and got dialtone immediately after setup. However when someone calls from outside they hear rings but the phone wont ring, if it rings and you can one party's sound doesnt go to the other party but theirs comes through. Click the "Network" option in the sidebar, skype freetalk then double-click on the Freetalk Connect-Me icon.
It is no longer available for purchase. However Skype should not be skype freetalk as a replacement landline service. Of course, Skype isn't the first or only one to offer a standalone Skype device that also works with your existing home phone line.
